VILLAS IN BALI – THE KINGDOM EXPERIENCE
Welcome to part 3 of my “Villas in Bali” series. We thought we got spoiled at the Shamballa Moon and the Puri Beji Villa, but today’s blogpost is a “one of a kind” experience and is dedicated to The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud.
If you are not a fan of reading go ahead and watch our Bali Youtube Vlogs on “Making It Happen” (just click on it or scroll all the way down).
The Chedi Club is situated in a very calm and beautiful area in Ubud. I must admit I felt like a queen entering my kingdom. Let me give you a first impression with the video we made for our Youtube channel (watch in full resolution):
ONE OF THE FINEST LUXURY VILLAS IN BALI
The Chedi Club is located in an exclusive estate surrounded by lush greenery and flourishing rice fields and is probably one of the finest luxury Villas in Bali and retreats in the world. The property expanses over 5 hectars and 20 private villas and suites are nestled which offer enough room for privacy and a comfortable home-away-from home feeling.
Traditional Balinese architecture, curated artifacts and a touch of beauty in every corner are the signature of each of the designer residences that feature glorious bedrooms, semi-outdoor bathrooms, private courtyard entrances and gardens. The Chedi Club charms discerning guests with its exquisite accommodation, signature spa, diverse cuisine, and attentive service, in a setting where serenity is sublime.
I looked around and it was surreal! The restaurant of the Chedi Club felt like I was in a whole different world! We had inner in the middle of the rice fields! Traditional balinese sounds welcomed us to an extraordinary dinner experience. We were able to experience a king’s dinner and we felt so honored to have this amazing meal!
Another day in paradise passed by, we woke up and again, it felt out of the world! Our personal assistent came by with an amazing breakfast and opened the gates of our private pool area which enabled a view to „our kingdom“ – the beautiful ricefields of the Chedi Club.
I took a walk to see the property and its beauty was beyond everything I imagined. It looked like my own little kingdom.
Morning Yoga, rice paddy trekking or a traditional dance performance by a local dancing group – we had it all and we went all in 🙂
We could not miss the chance to get a personal tour on the Chedi Club’s own rice fields. We learned a lot about rice harvesting and we evolved a high appreciation and respect to the work of the rice farmers. Every single rice corn is harvested by hand and I just can’t get over it how much hard they are putting in.
The whole experience was tipped off with an incredible traditional fire dance. The storyline is very dramatic and you are secretly cheering for the „good ones“ to win. The Chedi Club’s credo is, to support local artists. That is why they invited a local dancing group to blow our mind!
Honestly, we visited a lot of hotels, apartments and private Villas, but the Chedi Club blew my mind and it would be a great honeymoon getaway, a stay to let yourself go and to threat yourself. Bali’s hotel scene is incredible, but the Chedi Club experience is one of a kind and something you should enjoy to the fullest.
Also I have never taken so many pictures of a hotel and its surroundings but I must say, I was blown away by everything and the whole experience. Now this stay was a whole new level and I am thankful we had the opportunity to stay at the Chedi Club.
As a matter of fact, it’s the little things in live that matter and make me happy. And before we left, we got something special:
As a way of saying thank you, the Chedi Club team gave us a little gift. It was a bag of rice, nicely packaged and attached was a note with a recipe for Nasi Goreng. This made me very emotional as I saw how much effort goes into the harvest of this one bag because I learned it the day before during our rice paddy trekking. Besides this whole luxury, the appreciation is pretty high and this small gesture made me smile and I was looking forward to keep this bag of rice for a special occasion.
We felt like strangers when we arrived and when we left, it felt like we left as friends. Thank you to the Chedi Club team for making this stay an extraordinary experience we will never forget.
