Happy New Year and new fitness goals with Runtastic Results App
The Runtastic Results App is part of my new years resolutions for 2017. 2016 was the year of new experiences and learnings. If you follow me on Instagram, you may know we traveled a lot between Austria and Miami and the last year seemed to be a “transition year” as we were very busy establishing our business in the US and keeping everything on track in Austria at the same time. It was a good year but also kind of stressful as we had to fight the jetlag a few times and needed some time to adapt to time schedules, food and other things. In between we tried to rest as much as possible and enjoy this crazy ride 🙂
Also I turned 30 this year and originally I wanted to be in the “best shape of my life” before I turn 30. But sometimes life happens and priorities change. I still worked out a few times but it was not part of my daily routine due to my chaotic schedule. But there was still this urgent need to move more because I just love the positive “side effects” of working out:
- I feel and sleep better
- I’m not stressed and I recover faster
- it’s my good mood booster
- I’m more focused and get more things done
- my motivation is higher
- I automatically eat healthier
- my skin looks better
- I burn more calories with muscles – yay 😀
I could go on with this list forever. The key messages is: working out makes me happy.
New Years Resolutions
Brace yourself, the New Years Resolutions are coming haha 😀 but hey, they are a good thing even if we make fun of it every year. We finish a chapter and leave it behind to make space for new goals and positivity in the new year.
“the new year means nothing if you are still in love with your comfort zone”
My goals for 2017
2017 is my travel year and I want to fill my passport with lots of stamps from different countries. Working out can be a huge challenge since I don’t have a gym everywhere. Right? WRONG!
There are always plenty of possibilities to do a cardio workout. I prefer strenght training as I want to build muscles. That’s why I tested a few workouts in the last few months and I found the perfect solution to avoid every imagineable excuse to not work out while traveling 😉
Runtastic Results App
Runtastic is an Austrian fitness app developer which tracks your fitness and suggests different workouts and challenges to reach your fitness goals. One of my favorites is the latest App “Runtastic Results” which is a 12-week bodyweight training.
It is a personalized training plan based on your fitness level.
How it works
You can download the Runtastic Results App either on the App Store or Google Play store. At the very beginning you have a “test workout” to evaluate your fitness and the app puts together your plan (there are 3 stages as far as I know: easy, middle and heavy). You can decide every week how many workouts you want to do. The scheduled workouts take somewhere between 5-25 minutes. You can do either the workouts from the plan or you can do a “stand-alone” workout to add it to your workouts or to focus on different body areas like abs, legs etc.. Schedule these workouts depending on how much time you have – it goes from 5 minutes to 50-65 minutes or add Cardio Goals to your weekly schedule.
Also, you don’t have to worry about the excercises – they are explained with videos.
Note: To save data volume, make sure to use a wireless network when you are downloading the videos. Besides that, the app works without internet.
How much does the Runtastic Results App cost?
The app itself is free you can test a few workouts before you commit to it. The rates go from € 4,15 (monthly) to € 49,90 (yearly). Cheaper than a gym membership and affordable for everybody.
When I started doing the Results App, I found a Facebook Group through the App with a lot people from my hometown who meet and workout together outdoors or they motivate and support each other, ask questions and compare their results. I joined a few workouts in summer and I really loved it. Although everybody was doing a different workout (depending on in which week they were), I got such a motivation boost when we did the workouts together. You can find friends over your contacts or Facebook who are using the App as well or you can connect with a community from nearby areas.
Sorry kitties, you have to stay outside during my workout 😀
Additional benefits of the Runtastic Results App
There are plenty of features which help you to stay motivated and to reach your goals:
- You get tips for every week with a Health and Nutrition Guide
- You can take progress pics to track your results
- they even have a playlist with workout music
- and they have Q&A‘s to help you out
- also you can subscribe to their Youtube Channel for some weekly motivation 🙂
One of the biggest benefits is the fact that I don’t have to plan a workout – I just have to hit the “Start” button and I can do it everywhere 🙂
Like everything else in life, it’s not about “having” time, it’s about making time and I think a 20 minute workout fits into every schedule. I will keep you up-to-date with progress 🙂 Also make sure to head over to the lovely kick-ass girl Lunden to learn how to stick to your goals – check out her blog “Life Like Lunden”
